Day 2

On Thursday Night watched two episodes of Friends on TBSsitting around with my son who is recuperating from tonsillectomy.  Then we watched an epsiode of Family Guy on DVR.

Later watched two episodes of George Lopez and one The Nanny on Nick at Night.

I really like 30 minute sitcoms.  They help me relax, set aside concerns of the day for a while.  The earlier shows were with my 13 year old son and 15 year old daughter.  The later shows were with my 13 and 11 year old sons and wife.  The 13 year old was in charge of the remote control this day.

This was not a typical day in that 13 year old had tonsils out in the morning.  11 year old was returning from a week stay in Sweden at Children's International Summer Village so we went t oairport in evening to pick him up.

I spent about 4 hours in the afternnon working at home using the internet.

Day 1

1st POST: In the first post only, please answer the following questions

TV VIEWING HABITS: I typically watch TV in the evenings from as early as 6pm to as late as 12am.  But usually watch during prime time.  So I usually watch about 3 hours a day.  Left to my own devices it would all be live.  However my kids have mastered the DVR and we have a volumnous number of movies and Family Guy, The Office and Everybody Hates Chris epsodes.  I typically watch with my kids.  The kids at home are 11, 13 and 15.
NEW TV SHOWS: I find out about new shows from on and of network commercials, from friends ro magazines like Entertainment Weekly.

FAVORITE TV SHOWS: Ny favorite show had been Heroes.  I am sorry for its demise.  The shows I watch now the most are probably Law and Order SVU reruns, the Office reruns and the Nanny reruns.  There is something hypnotic about the rhythm of Law and Order.  I smile the whole time I watch the Office.  The Nanny is great for belly laughs - I have loved Fran Drescher since she was in This Is Spinal Tap.

FAVORITE NETWORKS: NBC, TBS, USA.  I love Thursday night new programming on NBC.  It is still must see for me.  TBS has The Office and other great sitcom reruns.  USA has Law and Order.  Also love Brava, Nick at Nite and TLC.

FUN EXERCISE: Imagine truTV, TLC, and A&E.  I imagine truTV as a badger standing in the middle of the road with is eyes in headlites.  That reminds me of all of the police car videos on that channel.  I imagine TLC as a little chihuahua with a lot of medical problems.  That came to mind quickly becasue I think of lots of little people on TLC and lots of real life medical problem shows.A&E I imagine as a squirrell constantly foraging for nuts and leaves and other odds and ends to bring back to its hole in a tree.  It is very obsessive, constantly repreating rituals, and its hovel is stuffed beyond capacity.  I associate A&E with obsessed and hoarders.

DAY 1 - Wednesday July 28
This day was unusual becasue I went out to dinner with my son who was having his "last supper" before a tonsillectomy on 7/29.  When we got home, we watched an episode of George Lopez and then Close Encounters of the Third Kind off of DVD. George Lopez was on DVR.  The show consistently makes me smile and laugh out loud.  I was feeling anxious about his surgery the next day and glad to spend time with him.  I watched with my wife and 13 year old son.  We watched George Lopez while we were waiting for my wife to finish some chores so we could wathc the movie together.
I am on the internet basically all day at work using internet based email, data bases and doing research related to my job.  I listened to the end of the CIncinnati Reds game on the radio on my way home from work.
